INTERVIEWS Although Thorgan Hazard scored twice, the standout performer this afternoon was perhaps Nathan De Cat. The midfielder, who turned 17 last week, started for the first time and dominated midfield. "It's nice that I got my chance. I think I took it," he said matter-of-factly after the match.

"I obviously hope to start as much as possible and I'll work towards that," De Cat told the media. The midfielder was also critical of himself. "It was good, but there's room for improvement. I thought I lost too many balls."

He was also realistically critical of the team's performance. He wasn't happy that Anderlecht quickly gave away a 2-0 lead after the break. "We didn't come out of the dressing room well, and we need to work on that. If we concede two goals every time, it's going to be difficult. Fortunately, we scored five times ourselves."

What does De Cat want to achieve this season? "Become champions and get as far as possible in Europe. That should always be the ambition for Anderlecht. The pre-season made it clear that we have a good team. I never won the championship in my youth team, so it has to happen with the first team."
