Will Lukaku buy into Anderlecht?

Friday's board meeting appears poised to be a clash between Marc Coucke and Wouter Vandenhaute. Vandenhaute has not formally submitted his resignation as chairman, but has submitted it to the board. According to Tavolieri, this means that a departure is only possible if his shares are bought back. This presents the other shareholders with an important choice.

According to Tavolieri, Coucke wants to remain committed and could possibly buy back Vandenhaute's shares, but other options are also on the table.

One of these is the return of Michael Verschueren. He has good contacts with Qatar Sports Investments (QSI). In exchange for a capital injection, he could be given responsibility for the club's day-to-day management, including transfer policy.

Furthermore, Romelu Lukaku has been offered a 5 percent stake. Initially, he could play a role in developing the youth center, with the potential to eventually become head coach of the first team. Lukaku is reviewing the proposal.
