OTHER Ali Maamar was one of the standouts on his wing against Gent, but Anderlecht will have to do without him in the coming weeks. The versatile defender has been called up by Morocco for the U20 World Cup, which kicks off this weekend.
“We couldn't take that opportunity away from him,” said coach Besnik Hasi. Maamar himself is also looking forward to it: “I've never played in a World Cup before and I'm glad the club gave me the green light.”
