GAMES On Sunday, the Lotto Park celebrated once again after a narrow 1-0 victory against Standard. The winning goal came from 18-year-old Mihajlo Cvetkovic, while Nathan De Cat put in an outstanding performance in midfield. From the start, Anderlecht managed to answer Standard's attacks well, thanks to strong organization. After the break, the offensive turnaround came when coach Besnik Hasi made three strategic substitutions.
The intensity increased, and Standard had to retreat. Cvetkovic scored immediately after coming on as a substitute following a beautifully constructed attack. His goal led to an explosion of joy in the stands. However, Hasi warned against hasty expectations: “He is making good progress, but we have to be careful.”
Nathan De Cat was undeniably the man of the match. With his maturity, game insight, and calmness on the ball, he controlled the midfield. Hasi praised him afterwards: “Hats off to Nathan. Despite some tough challenges, De Cat held his ground, but he will eventually need to be replaced,” he said.
Hasi is cautious with the young players: “We have to avoid putting too much pressure on these young guys,” he said.
Hasi also saw a number of controversial moments: “Standard's goal was rightly disallowed,” he said. He thought Angulo's foul was “close to red,” but the player got away with a yellow.
