TRANSFERS Anderlecht has extended Alexander De Ridder's contract by one year. The 17-year-old midfielder from the Futures is now tied to the club until 2028. De Ridder has emerged as a key player in the Futures team this season.
Born in Kiev in 2008, De Ridder has been playing for Anderlecht since he was 9. In the summer of 2024, at the age of 16, he signed his first professional contract for three years (the maximum allowed for minors). A year has now passed and the contract has been extended by another year.
On the final day of last season, De Ridder made his debut for the Futures in 1B. This season, he was in the starting line-up on the third match day and has remained there ever since. In September, De Ridder also made his debut for the Belgian U18 team.
“De Ridder impresses with his technical skills and explosiveness,” Anderlecht writes about the player. “Off the field, the midfielder is best known for his calmness and enormous drive to learn.”
