OTHER Het Nieuwsblad reports that Anderlecht will not allow Nathan De Cat to participate in the U17 World Cup with Belgium next month. The club has informed De Cat and his entourage of this decision. The midfielder himself would have liked to go, however.
The announcement is not yet official. The Belgian coach will announce his selection on October 20.
De Cat is too important for Anderlecht, the club argues. Ali Maamar and Anas Tajaouart, who are currently playing for Morocco in the U20 World Cup, are more expendable. That is why they were allowed to go.
