INTERVIEWS Thorgan Hazard expressed his frustration after Anderlecht's 1-0 defeat to Charleroi. "The ball just wouldn't go in," Hazard said in an interview with DAZN.

"We had chances, but we lacked that little something extra in the final stages."

The figures are disappointing: Anderlecht has collected only one point from its last two matches. Hazard also made it clear that the Purple & White can't go on a winning streak. "After the draw against STVV, it was crucial to win here," he continued. But that didn't happen, according to Hazard, due to a lack of consistency.

The winger also acknowledges his own shortcomings: "I didn't handle some balls well, and that shot that hit the post… that was just millimeters," he said. Hazard drew a parallel with the match against STVV, where small details went against the Purple & White. "But we have to change that ourselves," he was resolute.

The late goal conceded from a set-piece was particularly painful, especially because Charleroi were less dangerous in the second half. A top-six finish is now in jeopardy, and Hazard knows that. "But we have to move on quickly and focus on Tuesday's cup match."
