INTERVIEWS Anas Tajaouart was also part of Morocco's U20 team that became world champion. “I didn't put any pressure on myself during this tournament,” he said. Instead, his confidence grew as the competition progressed. “But the realization that we had actually become world champions only came later,” he described. He also emphasized the crucial role of his coach, Mo Ouahbi, who managed to build a strong team dynamic.
Like Maamar, Tajaouart wants to progress quickly within the Moroccan national team. At Anderlecht, his ambition is to permanently join the first team. “I want to earn the trust of coach Besnik Hasi,” he said.
His development is often compared to that of Théo Leoni, but Tajaouart is determined to make his breakthrough faster than his predecessor.
Tajaouart was also very pleased with the appreciation he received from his teammates, supporters, and the club after his participation in the World Cup.
