INTERVIEWS Two weeks ago, there were doubts about Thorgan Hazard, who didn't make much of an impression on the pitch against Charleroi. But now those doubts have been dispelled. Thanks to the new attacking quartet, the player's qualities are being used more effectively. Against Mechelen and Bruges, the midfielder was incredibly strong: "I'm in a good period," says Thorgan with a smile.

At 32, he has never run so much, thanks to the intensive physical training at Anderlecht. "I was honestly surprised by the workload here. We do strength training and injury prevention before and after training... Sometimes I say we work too much!" he laughs.

This intensive approach seems to be the key to his success. Hazard is fitter than ever and plays a crucial role in coach Besnik Hasi's system. Against Bruges, he made the most of the spaces left by the opposition. This led, for example, to an assist for Llansana (who couldn't finish) in the closing stages of the match.

His less-than-stellar day against Charleroi is now forgotten. "I wasn't good that day, but even then I could have scored. When you score, people forget," he concluded.
