TRANSFERS During the La Louvière – Anderlecht match (0-1), Marcos Peano, the 27-year-old Argentine goalkeeper, reminded everyone why he is considered one of the league's top keepers. This season Peano has already kept six clean sheets and has been in fine form. Against the Anderlecht attackers, he once again proved his worth. The La Louvière supporters applauded, but this keeper could actually become a reinforcement for Anderlecht...
Peano is not unknown to the Purple and White. At 17 he was recommended by Nicolás Frutos and in 2017 he had a trial at Neerpede. No contract came of it at the time, but his name is circulating again, not least because Silvio Proto, the club's goalkeeping coordinator, knows his profile well.
Anderlecht currently relies fully on Colin Coosemans (33), captain and leader in the dressing room. Behind him however the role of second goalkeeper remains uncertain. Mads Kikkenborg (26) could be replaced and the club is looking for a keeper with potential. Peano ticks the boxes: experience, consistency and room to grow. If the Purple and White decide to make the move, Peano could turn out to be a pleasant surprise.
