OTHER It remains to be seen whether Yari Verschaeren (24) will continue to wear the Anderlecht shirt after 2026. His current contract expires in June of that year and talks about an extension are proving difficult.
The purple and white club has previously indicated that a new contract is negotiable, but that Verschaeren, as one of the better-paid players, would have to make financial concessions. Both parties have now held talks and exchanged figures. Anderlecht believes that the proposal is fair, but for now, the gap between supply and demand remains considerable. Even though Verschaeren realizes that concessions are inevitable.
The negotiations are still at an early stage, but it is uncertain whether both parties will ultimately reach an agreement. The number ten has no alternatives for the time being. If no agreement is reached by New Year's Eve, Verschaeren will be allowed to enter into talks with other clubs from January 1 with a view to a transfer-free move next summer.
