The defender did not spare his team after the defeat against Sporting Charleroi. “We faced an opponent who was tactically strong, but above all, we let it slip,” he said. “From the kickoff, we weren't in the game.”
According to Sardella, the main cause was the early collapse. “We conceded two goals that we should never have given away. That makes it very difficult for yourself and you have to look at yourself first and foremost. Today, we simply didn't play to our usual standard.”
The defeat means that Anderlecht ends the calendar year with a meager 4 out of 12. “That's not enough for a club like Anderlecht,” Sardella acknowledged. “Especially since we had just come off a strong period with many victories.
