OTHER Colin Coosemans has a good chance of being named Goalkeeper of the Year at the Golden Boot Gala. However, his focus isn't on individual praise. In the HLN Football Podcast, the Anderlecht goalkeeper emphasizes that he's primarily focused on one thing: winning trophies with the club. "In 2026, we want to have something tangible as a team."
The last time an Anderlecht goalkeeper won this award was twelve years ago with Silvio Proto. Coosemans could break that drought. He looks back on his performances of the past year with satisfaction. "I reached a high and consistent level in 2025," he says. "In the first round of voting, I see Senne Lammens and Anthony Moris as strong contenders. Later in the year, I also found Kjell Scherpen and Marcos Peano of La Louvière very impressive."

"We're still competing in two competitions, and as a team, we have a clear ambition: to win a trophy in 2026. If I had to choose between no individual trophy or a trophy with Anderlecht, that choice would be easy."
According to the goalkeeper, it's crucial that the purple and white team re-develop a true winning mentality. "Once that culture is back, the club can truly move forward. The foundations are certainly there."
Coosemans also sees positive developments within the squad. I'm still taking on my role as leader, and after Jan Vertonghen's departure, others, like Marco Kana, are clearly making strides. Whatever the transfer window brings, one thing is certain: we'll do everything we can to win again in 2026.
