OTHER Mauves Army and South Leaders, the two most fanatical supporters' groups of Anderlecht, will tonight refuse to welcome the team bus for the cup match against Antwerp. They announced this in an open letter. “You no longer deserve this,” it reads. Below is the full open letter from Mauves Army and South Leaders to the squad.

After a disgusting succession of disappointments in a short time, this shameful and appalling lost ‘Clasico' away from home was the straw that broke the camel's back for our unconditional support, write Mauves Army and South Leaders. This defeat, the perfect symbol of your complacency and lack of character, forces us to remind you of your responsibilities as professional footballers. As the trips down to Neerpede have unfortunately become more frequent as the seasons progress and clearly have ever less effect, we have decided to take a different approach. It has been unanimously decided to cancel the traditional reception of the bus for the first leg of this Belgian Cup semi-final. You have trampled this privilege underfoot. You no longer deserve it. For once we will adapt to your level. So, like you, we will content ourselves with the absolute minimum (but done better, which certainly will not be difficult). It is now up to you to take responsibility, to wear this shirt with pride and to respect the history of the finest club in the country, every day, for the duration of your lucrative and generous contracts. Prove it to us on the pitch with convincing, committed and successful performances, with everyone giving their best for the colours they have the luck and privilege to wear, and with everyone fighting for something other than their personal comfort. Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht is not a refuge for soulless players and never will be.
