TRANSFERS Het Nieuwsblad today publishes a double interview with Colin Coosemans and Geert De Vlieger. Coosemans speaks in depth about his contract extension, his post-match interviews and the team's ups and downs. He still has one season left on his Anderlecht contract. He will turn 34 in August and says he definitely wants to keep playing until he's 36 — most likely still at Anderlecht.

"I confirm that talks are going well again now," he says. "I am happy at Anderlecht." He admits that when negotiations stalled he considered an adventure abroad. "I discussed it with my family, but my children weren't enthusiastic. Their life is here." "If there's little that's positive, I'm not going to put on a positive front" Coosemans also addresses Anderlecht's sporting performances. De Vlieger notes that Coosemans is often the one asked to explain after a match.

"If there's little that's positive, I'm not going to put on a positive front then," says Coosemans. "I try to strike a balance between being critical of myself and of the team, while showing the necessary respect for my team-mates and the coach." "The gap between our good and bad games is far too big," Coosemans adds.

He points out that Anderlecht can beat top opponents, yet in some matches hardly gain any control over the rival. He believes that is because the team is still very much in a transition phase. "A lot changed last summer, and this winter Angulo left…" According to Coosemans, a win in the cup final would give the club something solid to build on.
