Late last season, ex-Mouscron coach Ariël Jacobs was brought in to replace assistent coach Glen De Boeck. A few months into his new job Jacobs took the time to reflect on his function at RSC Anderlecht.

"It took some time to make the switch from head coach to assistent coach. It's a different way of thinking. Instead of doing the organising I now receive tasks," said Jacobs in La Dernière Heure.

Jacobs does not always agree with Vercauteren's ideas. "Not a single coach wants his assistent to be an ordinary yes man. That wouldn't aid the performances of the team. We don't alway have the same opinion but when the game starts we have the same goal."

Jacobs also reflected on the level of the reserves competition. "The level is simply too low. Our youngsters won't book a lot of progress that way, so it's better to loan players like Lamah and Tioté so they can get used to games at a higher level."
