Tielemans: "Have to raise my level"

INTERVIEWS As Leander Dendoncker is still out, Youri Tielemans will be in the starting eleven against Ghent next Sunday. Despite being elected Youngster of the Year, he wants to raise his level in 2016.

Tielemans was often on the bench last season. "I played will in the Play Offs and made an important goal that kept us in the race for the title", Tielemans reacts. "The last couple of months I don't play consistently and I had long discussions about it with the coach. I know what he expects and it's now up to me to react."

"Of course I can play together with Defour"

Tielemans loves to play on the same position as Steven Defour, but they can also play together. "We are both intelligent enough to know when to ask the ball. I don't have any problem with Defour."

"My best position is as a box-to-box player. The only problem is that Anderlecht seldom play in such a system. That means I have to find my way in the team."

"Back to the Tielemans of the early days"

No matter how he performs, many teams are still eager to land Tielemans. "I am not thinking about that", Tielemans states. I should not think and only concentrate on my game, just like in the early days."
