Anderlecht has doubts about Boeckx and is thinking about another secon

INJURIES Frank Boeckx does not get rid of his hernia. Although the entourage of the goalkeeper does not panic, Anderlecht is worried. Can Boeckx start the season as second goalkeeper? Anderlecht are therefore thinking of getting another reserve keeper and keeping Boeckx on board as number three.


At the end of December, Boeckx had surgery on the back. The goalkeeper is already training, but sometimes he needs painkillers to finish everything. "At the moment we are not afraid of his career, but we have to keep everything under control", coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck told Friday at his press conference.

At Anderlecht they think it is risky to start with Boeckx as second goalkeeper in the season. What if he is not fit and something happens to the first keeper? Letting Boeckx go is not an option: he still has a contract for two years and is important for group dynamics. That is why the club plays with the idea to get another second keeper and Boeckx as number three to start the season. Completely fit he can then climb up in the hierarchy.
