INTERVIEWS Zeno Debast is convinced that every match he plays is one where he has to prove his qualities, the pressure has a positive effect on the player. He knows his qualities and he doesn't feel the stress, which is a great quality.

He keeps his head on his shoulders, he was first trained as a right back and then as a number ten before being put by Benoit Haegeman as a central defender which frustrated him at first because he couldn't be as decisive but he also had a lot of trouble turning over because of his big size.

Vincent Kompany and Craig Bellamy have taught him to put his foot down more, which has allowed him to make great progress defensively. His positioning is ideal, but he still needs to commit himself more in duels, according to him.

The automatisms are starting to show in the RSCA defence, the system with three defenders is new for him as well as for Hannes Delcroix or Wesley Hoedt. He believes that it's not experience that counts but talent, the best one has to play.

The young Mauves have the advantage of not having the pressure of their training in Neerpede, he insists. He wants to leave a trace of his time at RSC Anderlecht before thinking about going abroad, he has the ambition to fight for the title this season and he says the team is ready for that.

He noticed that Felice Mazzu's coaching is nothing like Vincent Kompany's, he had a good feeling with both coaches and he is very grateful to Vincent Kompany.

Last season ended with a foot injury, but there was never any question of an operation because he just needed some rest, says the player. He concluded by saying that he let his entourage negotiate his contract extension, a departure was never an option for the young purple defender.
