INTERVIEWS In an interview with Het Laatste Nieuws, Driss Ait El Hadj confirms that his son did not want to play with the U23 team in Lommel on Sunday. Father El Hadj talks about the difficult situation of his son. "He doesn't necessarily want to leave, but he wants to play," he said.

According to Driss Ait El Hadj, his son is having a difficult time mentally, which is why he decided to forgo the Futures. "But as far as I'm concerned that was a one-off. If Anderlecht asks again, Anouar will do it next time," said father Driss. "Anouar has a contract with Anderlecht and will honour it. He is not a difficult boy and does not want to cause problems."

Fact is that Anouar has had to train separately with the B-selection since yesterday. According to his father, Anouar indicates that he trains well and that his physical values are in order. "He's just a bit out of shape," Driss said. "But without playing opportunities, he won't find that form. The past few matches the coach rotated a lot, but Anouar didn't play. I don't understand that very well."

The key question now is whether Ait El Hadj can turn the situation around quickly. "If the club and the trainer don't count on him anymore, they should say so," Driss said. "Then we will find a solution. It is certainly not the case that he wants to leave the club at any cost. But now it's as if Anderlecht have forgotten him." According to Driss, it is now up to the club and my son's representatives to look at the future. "Because from this situation no one will be happy."
