INTERVIEWS Faster than expected, Adrien Trebel made his return Sunday after a shoulder injury. Coach Robin Veldman spoke very highly of the Frenchman yesterday afternoon at his press conference before the cup game against Lierse. "He has the leadership ability to steer the team and be my extension on the field," Veldman said.

"Trebel digested his half-hour at Antwerp very well," Veldman said. "We are going to see what is possible heading into tomorrow and Sunday. His return gives us additional options. His experience in the locker room is very important. When I look at how he guides the young players, ,ls I see his aggressiveness in duels, how he assesses situations .... His experience plays a big role. That's why we had him substitute for half an hour against Antwerp."

"Adrien gives a very eager impression. He is very engaged with the team. How we have to stand when we have the ball, but also when we don't have the ball. He speaks to players when they need to step a little faster left or right. You see that he has a lot of experience and also leadership skills to steer the team. With a young selection, it's nice as a coach to have an extension on the field.

After this season, Trebel's contract ends. Would Veldman like to keep him? "I am here ad interim so I shouldn't talk about the long term. I am especially happy that Adrien can be important for us again now."
