INTERVIEWS Zeno Debast is one of the candidates to win the trophy of best youngster tonight at the Golden Shoe gala. On arrival, he was already briefly addressed by a reporter for some questions.

"It has gone fast in 2022 and a lot has happened. For me, only positive. I hope 2023 will also be such a year," Debast said.

All the positivity for Debast does coincide with a difficult period for Anderlecht. "Every experience I gain, both with the national team and with Anderlecht, I try to take with me and thus help the club as much as possible. I will always give my all for Anderlecht."

The interviewer also asked if it hurts at Debast that some talented guys are leaving (referring to Duranville, ed). "Of course we would like those guys to stay with us, but that's everyone's situation. We mainly look at ourselves and the players who want to stay and keep fighting for the club."

"Last weekend we recorded a nice win against Seraing. We have to try to take that confidence into the other games. It certainly did wonders."

Debast is one of the candidates for the promise of the year award. Who does he see as competitors? "I think there are a lot of good players. I think of Maarten Vandevoordt, Bilal El Khannous, Mike Trésor, ... We'll see."
