TRANSFERS On Wolverhampton's website, the English club gives some explanation as to why it is shipping Fabio Silva from Anderlecht to PSV. Wolverhampton hint that Anderlecht's difficult season is the reason. "But we would have no problem letting them rent players in the future," it sounds.


"Anderlecht have been brilliant with Fabio and has given him a platform to perform, but I think they will admit it has been a season where they have struggled," says sports director Matt Hobbs. "We were concerned that if they didn't progress in certain competitions, they wouldn't play many games with their system, and with an international tournament in the summer, it was important that Fabio played regularly."

"Anderlecht understood that very well. They were first-class and we would have no problem lending players to them again. This is the next step in his development. The club has invested in a young player with a lot of potential, and he has shown glimpses of his talent here at Wolves, and at Anderlecht we have seen him score regularly, so we want the same at PSV," Hobbs said.

"Julen (Lopetegui, Wolverhampton's coach, ed.) wants him back here for pre-season to see how he develops. The manager is keeping a close eye on him."
