Ecuador gives Angulo shirt number 10 for World Cup

YOUTH Ecuador is counting on Nilson Angulo to help the country shine at the U20 World Cup, which begins next weekend. The Anderlecht player was assigned shirt number 10. Angulo himself is looking forward to it immensely. "This is a huge opportunity to show me to Anderlecht," he said.


Earlier this year, Angulo missed the South American U20 Championship because Anderlecht did not want to release him. Anderlecht was not obliged to do so for this World Cup either, but now Angulo is allowed to go. "I was very sorry that I couldn't participate in the South American Championship. Fortunately, I am here now," he told the crowd as the Ecuadorian selection departed for host Argentina.

"I'm here with a lot of confidence. It's a great opportunity for me to earn my place at Anderlecht. I know what responsibility I have here. I hope to live up to the expectations," said the 20-year-old Ecuadorian. "I'm proud to represent my country."
