Sardella and Debast in pre-selection Euro U21

YOUTH Anderlecht players Zeno Debast and Killian Sardella (photo) are part of the preliminary selection of the Belgian U21 for the European Championship in June. That is what Het Nieuwsblad knows. The newspaper does not have a complete list, so it is not excluded that Anderlecht players are also included in the pre-selection.


The European Championship will take place from June 21 to July 8 in Georgia and Romania. Belgium is assigned to a group with the Netherlands, Portugal and host country Georgia. On Monday, June 5, the young Devils will come together to begin preparations. When the final selection will be announced is not yet clear.

Since this tournament is not on the official FIFA calendar, clubs are not obliged to release their players. However, there is a good chance that Anderlecht will do so. After all, the European Championship is a great showcase to put players in the spotlight and boost their market value.

For Debast, it might be a busy month of June. Chances are he will also be called up for the first team, which plays two European Championship qualifiers. But the chances that he will also be in action there are less likely. Which in turn increases the chances that after the Red Devils' internationals, he will travel to the European Championship to play an important role there.
