OTHER Jan Vertonghen is allowed to report for the Red Devils in Tubize on Monday. The defender is part of national coach Domenico Tedesco's 24-man squad for the international matches against Austria and Estonia. "Vertonghen worked out every day in the gym in Tubize," Tedesco said

Vertonghen's last game dates back to 23 April. The European Championship qualifiers come almost two months later. "After we knew Anderlecht would not play play-offs, I was in contact with Jan," Tedesco says. "He indicated he was happy to be with the team for these two games."

At the end of the season, Vertonghen had some ankle problems. "He has been working on this. Every day he is in the gym in Tubize. We are monitoring his situation day to day. We will see if he manages to join group training on Monday."

Vertonghen is Anderlecht's only player in the squad. Zeno Debast is part of the U21 squad for the European Championship.
