Leoni: "Happy, but also disappointed"

INTERVIEWS With his second goal of the season, Theo Leoni seemed to get the three points for a long time, but the equalizer fell in the closing stages. "It's frustrating to swallow a goal in the last minutes," the midfielder said.


Leoni actually scored with his head at the Bosuil. "I'm very happy that I scored. Especially because it was with the head. With my stature, that won't happen often," he laughed in front of the television camera after the match. 

"But I'm still disappointed. We did everything we could to defend the lead. Antwerp pressed tremendously though, it wasn't obvious. We started the match well. The first half was evenly matched."

The past few matches Leoni sat on the bench. An ankle injury prevented him from starting, but after the return of Verschaeren, midfield spots are even more expensive than before. "During training and the game, you have to show the coach that you deserve to play. He talks to me a lot and gives me confidence.".
