INTERVIEWS Apart from thecentral back position, we don't have to expect many acquisitions at Anderlecht in January. Outwards will move more. "We have too many players, especially for some positions," says coach Brian Riemer.

"From Feb. 1, we will have a smaller core anyway," Riemer hinted Friday during his press conference ahead of the game against Genk. "Some guys really deserve to play, but we have too many players. Especially in some positions."

"It's not that we don't want these players here. As a coach you want competition, but sometimes you can also have too much competition. In some positions we have to reduce the number of players, for the good of the players, the good of the team and the good of the club."

"Looking for best solution for Arnstad"

One of the guys whose departure is negotiable is Kristian Arnstad. "I had a conversation with Kristian yesterday (Thursday, ed.). He is one of the players where my heart bleeds. He's a really good player, but has had some bad luck this season. I don't think the difference between Stroeykens, Leoni and Arnstad is very big. Their profiles differ a little bit."

"Kristian played against Union (on the opening matchday, ed.) because he deserved it. He was really strong against Ajax (in the last practice game before the start of the season, ed.). Against Union, not only he didn't perform well, but the whole team. For the next game against Antwerp, we made some adjustments. One of the guys who came in was Theo. Mario also came in then. And since then we lost only once in twenty duels."

"It's not easy for the guys who are beside then to get into the team. Because if you only lose once in twenty games and you're second in the standings, that means a lot of things are working well."

"So we have to make a plan for Kristian AND with Kristian. We have to see what is best for him: stay and fight for a place, be let out or be sold. Together with him we have to see what is the best solution."
