"Injury main reason Raman was not included"

INTERVIEWS Not because Anderlecht wants to sell him this winter anyway, but because he was injured. That, according to Brian Riemer, was why Benito Raman was not present at Anderlecht's winter training camp. "Should Benito stay this winter, I am also happy," Riemer says.

"I like Benito and every time he played before the winter break, he did his job," Riemer told Het Nieuwsblad. The coach does acknowledge that Raman is in a difficult situation because his contract expires in June. "That's why it might be better to look for another club now. But if that doesn't work out and he stays, I will also be satisfied."

An impending transfer, however, was not why Raman was not with us on a training trip to Tunisia. "The main reason was because he was suffering from an injury," Riemer said.

Either way, if Raman finishes the season at Anderlecht, he doesn't seem to have to count on many more playing minutes. "He will really have to fight to get playing time," Riemer said.
