GAMES Anderlecht ended their training camp with a 2-1 defeat against Sporting Club Braga who finished fourth in Portugal. In the first half, Coosemans kept Purple and White upright with some good saves. After half-time, he then had to concede when a shot deflected off Stroeykens. Amuzu equalised after a stellar counterattack with a crossed shot, but in minute 77 Gabri Martinez was too quick off the defence to give Braga the win for the second time.

Anderlecht could create little danger. Amuzu did make a clever equaliser and also scored in the first half, but the 0-1 was disallowed (unfairly?) by the Portuguese referee. It was also notable that the almost 16-year-old De Cat replaced the equally young Engwanda as central defender. De Cat normally plays as a defensive midfielder.

Anderlecht will practise against Metz and Wolfsburg next week before it is really about the marbles.

Anderlecht: Coosemans, Sardella, Engwanda (De Cat 71'), Leoni, N'Diaye, Rits, Verschaeren, Stroeykens, Angulo, Amuzu, Vazquez
