TRANSFERS Ludwig Augustinsson is now officially an Anderlecht player again. The Swedish left-back signed a contract for three seasons. "With Ludwig we are building on the team that was already there last season," explained CEO Jesper Fredberg.
Augustinsson comes over for free from Sevilla. Last season he already played for Anderlecht on loan. "He convinced us then with his experience and top mentality," says Fredberg. "After the season, we immediately noticed that Ludwig was very keen to come back. We still have unfinished business together, so it feels great to have him back on board."
Augustinsson himself is also happy to be back: "It's simple: this feels like coming home again. Last year, every day at the club was like being part of a big family. Together with the fans, we created something last year that I want to continue to be part of, because I feel the best is yet to come."
Augustinsson is the second experienced flank defender to join after Thomas Foket. "With the transfers of Ludwig and Thomas, we strengthen the full-back positions and also have different profiles available at those positions," Fredberg concludes.
