GAMES Satisfied with the victory, but realising that footballing needs to improve. Brian Riemer drew the logical conclusion after the game against Dinamo Minsk. ‘Of course I would have preferred to win 0-5, but sometimes you have to be satisfied with 0-1,' he said.
‘This is a good result,' Riemer spoke after the match. ‘Now we have to finish it at home. In front of our own crowd we will also have to play better football. In possession, it wasn't good.'
What Riemer was also not satisfied with were the chances Anderlecht gave away. ‘I said that to my players as well. They were all chances after simple long balls. Colin had to save us again,' Riemer said. ‘How that came about? Partly due to inexperience in our defence (Simic, ed.), partly because Zanka still needs to get more into his rhythm.'
No league football for Anderlecht this weekend, so the gaze can immediately turn to the return game. ‘Saturday the players have a day off, but on Sunday we train again. This is a good chance to work on our automatisms. Especially for the newcomers.'
