GAMES A very weak Anderlecht suffered a 0-2 defeat against Genk. Anderlecht was thoroughly outplayed in the first half, with Genk dominating and only leading 0-1 at halftime thanks to Coosemans, who saved a penalty. After Sor missed a big chance, substitute Adedeji scored the second goal after the break.

Anderlecht offered little resistance, creating almost no chances, with Edozie being the only player to occasionally cause danger. Despite their poor performance, Anderlecht remains fourth in the standings, but the pressure is mounting ahead of the upcoming home match against the surprisingly strong Charleroi.

A sluggish Anderlecht was given a footballing lesson by a sharp Genk before halftime. In the first 15 minutes, Genk pinned Anderlecht back, quickly winning a soft penalty. Coosemans saved the spot-kick and the rebound. In the past, Anderlecht would have punished an opponent after such a moment, but now couldn't even muster a threat. The only danger came from Edozie, who set up Foket for Anderlecht's only chance, saved by former player Van Crombrugge. Genk finally took the lead in the 36th minute from a poorly defended corner, with Sadick controlling a headed ball off his chest.

Coosemans made another key save just before halftime, denying Tolu from close range. Anderlecht was lucky to only be 0-1 down at the break.

Verschaeren replaced the ineffective Amuzu after the break, and Anderlecht attempted to gain more control with Dendoncker moving into midfield. However, like in previous games, Anderlecht failed to create chances. Genk missed an opportunity in the 69th minute when Sor, sent through on goal, shot wide.

Late in the match, substitute Angulo provided brief moments of danger with some dribbles. Dolberg's efforts were easily saved, and in the 85th minute, Genk sealed the win. Zanka was easily outmuscled and the unmarked Adedeji to score the 0-2. In extra time, Ashimeru had a chance but failed to connect with Dolberg.
