INTERVIEWS Tomorrow Anderlecht will probably meet a striking name at Real Sociedad: former player Sergio Gomez. After one Anderlecht season (2021-2022) Gomez already left for Manchester City, but since this summer the Spaniard is back in his own country.

Continue reading In the league, Sociedad has not started so well, but the Europa League is taken very seriously (Sociedad played a draw in Nice on the first match day). After all, the final will be played at Athletic Bilbao's stadium. The players and supporters obviously want nothing more than to play the final in the big rival's stadium. It is the first European home game and Gomez expects around 40,000 spectators.
“I had a great year, only the crowning glory was missing.” Gomez looks back on his year with Anderlecht. He admits that the lost cup final remained on his mind for a long time. The Spaniard is grateful for the opportunity he was given at Purple White by Kompany and the staff to regain his prominence. Gomez is also not surprised that his then coach is now coaching at Bayern Munich.
From his two seasons at City, Gomez keeps very good memories. Although he did not play that much, he won the Champions League and even the treble.
