Anderlecht is currently in the lead in the Europa League along with Lazio and Tottenham. A win in Riga would bring purple and white closer to qualifying for the next round. Coach David Hubert takes the match against Riga very seriously, but remains realistic and humble. He stresses the importance of focusing on the next game and respects the opponent by analyzing their strengths and weaknesses.
The RSCA coach takes this 4th Europa League match very seriously. David Hubert is ambitious, but keeps his feet firmly on the ground: there is still a long way to go, but Anderlecht can dream thanks to their 9 out of 9.
“The goal of every team participating in a tournament is to win. But we also have to be realistic. We are only three games away from the end of the tournament. We shouldn't look too far ahead or too far back. We recovered well as a team after a difficult week with defeats against Beerschot and Club Brugge, but only the next match is important. We respect Riga FS and have analyzed their strengths and weaknesses. I know they won the title and the Latvian Cup last week and I hope they are tired after the party (laughs). No, I know that Riga will be very focused. It is up to us to make the right choices. We can use all available players”.
On Killian Sardella's pre-selection for the Red Devils
David Hubert also thinks a Belgian selection makes sense. “ Killian can certainly be useful for the national team,” Hubert said. “I see how hard he works in training and what performances come out of that in matches. This pre-selection is already a reward and a real selection would also be deserved.
