After a difficult period, marked by a 2-1 defeat against Club Brugge and a 1-1 draw against Racing Genk, Anderlecht's players have recovered. After their victory in the cup against Gent (2-0) and their big win against Zulte Waregem (7-0), they won their last match against Gent 2-1. During injury time of the first half, the RSCA Women took the lead against Gent thanks to Luna Vanzeir. She immediately raised four fingers to the cameras and photographers, symbolizing the number of goals she had scored in her last two games.

“Right now I am in top form and really have no reason to complain,” Luna Vanzeir said enthusiastically. The player also said she always puts the team first. An assist gives her equal pleasure. “At the end of the day, soccer is a team sport,” she said with a laugh.

Vanzeir currently counts seven goals and wanted to do as well as she did last season at Racing; that means vibrating the nets 10 times. “But if a teammate is better positioned to score, I won't hesitate to give her the ball.”

RSCA Women are also resolutely going for the double this season. However, the competition remains fierce. “The top is becoming more diverse and victories are no longer guaranteed,” Vanzeir explains.

Finally, Vanzeir also says she is surprised by coach Moerman's departure. But like sports director Dave Mattheus, she says she respects the decision. “With Farid at the helm as interim, we have someone who knows the structure and our team perfectly,” she expresses her confidence. This echoes the same story as Mattheus, who still indicated that Anderlecht will take enough time to find a suitable replacement.
