INTERVIEWS Antoine Colassin played a strong game for Beerschot at his Lotto Park. The former Anderlecht player provided the assist for the 0-1 and was involved in many attacks. “I'm disappointed, but also proud of our performance,” he said afterwards.

Colassin had to leave Anderlecht last summer. He had become too old for the Futures and a breakthrough in the first team was not in the cards. “It feels special for me to play in this stadium today. Maybe one day I'll return, who knows. We'll see what the future brings, although for now I'm focusing on Beerschot.”

And at Beerschot, things are going well for Colassin. The intention was to grow quietly, but faster than expected he has become a fixture. With three goals and three assists in 12 games (cup and league combined), his statistics also look good.

“Antoine knows better than anyone else where and when to pop up to score. Often you see him run into the penalty area and do a fourty-five. That's typical for players from the Anderlecht training,” his coach Dirk Kuyt told Het Nieuwsblad this weekend.

“Antoine is getting stronger and stronger. I think there is still a lot in him. He is still in full development. I still see him making big steps.”
