Anderlecht third in Europa League

GAMES The 1-2 win against Slavia Prague puts Anderlecht third in the Europa League with 14 points. Teams in places 8, 9 and 10 count 11 points. So with two games to go, a 3/6 would put Anderlecht very close to direct qualification for the next round, although goal difference could still play a role (and therein it is exciting to say the least).

A number of confrontations between the two sides could help the people of Brussels take another step forward. For example, Gatalasaray, number 6 with 12 points still plays Ajax (11th with 10 points). 

Manchester United, however, will play an even bigger role. The Englishmen are 7th with 12 points and still meet Rangers and FCSB, 8th and 10th in the standings respectively (both with 11 points). 
So a number of Anderlecht's direct competitors are going to count each other out anyway.

Union can also give Anderlecht a helping hand as they too still meet Rangers.
