Verschaeren linked to Turkish team

TRANSFERS Yari Verschaeren is said to have attracted interest from Turkish Trabzonspor. According to a Turkish source, the Süper Lig club is exploring options to attract the Belgian player. Earlier, interest from Westerlo was also reported, but a transfer to the Kemphans is not very realistic. Verschaeren's future with Anderlecht remains unclear. The player is experiencing a shaky season and, before the injury wave, mostly took his place on the bench. 

However, the expectation is that the club will not let Verschaeren leave unless an offer that cannot be refused would be made. Whether such an offer will come from Trabzonspor is also doubtful. At the end of the season, the cards could be different. The 23-year-old Verschaeren starts his final year of his contract in June. At that point, he will either have to re-sign or likely leave.
