Coosemans: “Seemed like a beach volleyball court”

INJURIES Whoever watched the match yesterday could not ignore it, not the “game” of RSC Anderlecht and certainly not around it the lousy state of the field at the Kiel. Colin Coosemans stood there exactly in a sandbox. 


“It was not easy conditions to play football, the field looked like a ground for beach volleyball. We knew it wasn't going to be easy and the field certainly didn't help that, but the most important thing is qualification.”

“In any case, on Sunday there will be no excuses for how we played. Against Club we are going to have to show Anderlecht's DNA on the pitch and we are going to try to do that.”

Beerschot captain Thibaud Verlinden also did not have a good word to say about the state of the pitch: “We train on this, this is a disgrace for Belgian football.”
