Verschaeren: “This is incredibly hard”

INTERVIEWS Immediately after the game, Yari Verschaeren was in front of the Go Play microphone. “To hand this over in this way is very unfortunate,” he said in a first reaction. “This is hard to explain.”
 


“This is tremendously hard to explain. We play a good first half. We deserved to be ahead at halftime, but even at 1-1 nothing had happened. We also come out of the locker room strong, but then there are those weak ten minutes where we give everything away. We still come back to 3-4. This is very unfortunate.”

So no direct qualification for the eighth finals. “This is incredibly hard, especially with the way we played today. We showed we deserved more.”

“In the beginning, we really controlled the match heavily. To give this away in this way is very unfortunate. We played a strong European campaign. It's unfortunate that it ends this way now.”
