Anderlecht already won 9 million

OTHER Anderlecht ended the Europa League on a false note. Still, it can credit a pretty penny to its account. It earned almost 9 million euros from the league phase. The difference with Club Brugge in terms of revenue remains phenomenally large (and is getting bigger), though. They took off with nearly 50 million.
 


The other Belgian clubs, Union, Gent and Cercle all earned slightly less than Anderlecht and sit somewhere between 7 and 8.5 million.

The amounts once again underline the importance of European soccer for the club. But to really catapult Anderlecht back to the absolute Belgian top, winning the Champions League is absolutely necessary in order to finally purify the finances and build up reserves again.
