Anderlecht's sporting director did have to negotiate the departure of Anders Dreyer, leaving money for incoming transfers. Renard would have liked to capture more for the Dane, but because of his salary and promises made by the previous sporting management, this was not possible.

Francis Amuzu's departure, in turn, has to do with his contract expiring next summer and his high salary. Furthermore, it was also necessary to make room for the youngsters coming up, for example Tristan Degreef is sitting through well and also already signed a contract extension.

The departure of Amuzu saved Purple White six months of high salary which then freed up budget for incoming transfers. As a result, only one incoming transfer was hired, though with an option to buy.

Especially in defense, reinforcements were needed, because for 19-year-old Jan-Carlo Simic, the many games began to weigh heavily. He even asked for rest against Kortrijk.

Elyess Dao came through his network and was being watched by a number of English teams. According to Olivier Renard, he has a lot of potential, but the player's estimated value is disproportionate to his talent. Criticism is always there according to Renard, only time will tell if his choice was the right one.

Ibrahim Kanaté and Enzo Sternal were chances to strengthen the Futures, who are fighting for retention in the Challenger Pro League, which is very important for Anderlecht and the whole academy.
