GAMES After three years, Anderlecht may once again go to the Heysel for the final of the Cup of Belgium. In the return match of the semi-final, a 2-2 draw sufficed. Although purple-white played more than a half against ten and the decisive equalizer only fell in the added time.
Anderlecht started the game with a 1-0 bonus from the outward match and opted for an approach with three central defenders. Adryelson started on the right, Hey centrally and Simic on the left. Antwerp showed from the start that it wanted to put Anderlecht under pressure. That resulted in some chances and an opening goal through Odoi.

Continue reading The home team could not enjoy the lead for long. After a corner kick, Verschaeren equalized six minutes later. Not much later, Antwerp had to continue with ten after a stupid second yellow for Odoi. The game started to boil, but halftime cooled things down.
After the break, it was clear that Anderlecht wanted to get the job done in a reasoned manner. It left the ball to Antwerp and occasionally tried to be dangerous itself in the transition. Purple and White kept control for a long time. Ten minutes before time, however, there was a first warning through Chery, but Coosemans showed his added value. The goalkeeper, however, had no recourse against when Kerk was allowed to strike from close range: 2-1 and on to extra time.
Anderlecht coach Hubert responded with a triple substitution. With results. After a quickly taken free kick by Dendoncker, Huerta dribbled into the penalty area on the left. He laid back nicely to the same Dendoncker, who kicked the ball masterfully into goal. The first goal for Dendoncker since his return, but an oh so important one.
And so Anderlecht qualified for the final of the Belgian Cup. On May 1 or 14, Club Brugge awaits them.
