“To be stronger in crucial matches than past months”

Vandeven says he currently has an agreement to work for Anderlecht until the end of the season, but that it is not a full-time job. After the season, it will be seen whether the two parties will continue with each other longer.

“In the first place, the intention is to be stronger during the crucial matches that still follow (play-offs and cup final, ed.) than in the past months,” Vandeven said. As a physiotherapist himself, he will not treat injured players, but will help think about how to make progress in injury treatment.

Vandeven will especially help think about how the players can perform better. “Recovery, strength, speed, mental sharpness, motivation, ...,” he lists. 

With Jacques Borlée, Vandeven also enlisted the help of another athletics coach. “He knows a lot about recovery, which is a key fact at the end of the season.”
