Hey: “I play where the coach needs me”

INTERVIEWS During the last league game against Cercle Bruges, Lucas Hey felt good at his position as a defensive midfielder. This role was not unfamiliar to him, as he had played at this position before. Hey is satisfied with his performance, but acknowledges that there is still much room for improvement on valk of positioning, decision-making and cooperation with his teammates.


David Hubert, now fired, chose Hey because of his skill with the ball, his offensive style of play and his physical presence. Although Hey prefers a role in the center of the defense, he says he adapts to the coach's wishes. “I play where the coach says I should play,” he chimed in. Hey began his career as a defensive midfielder, but has since moved further back up the field, which better suits his physicality.
