YOUTH Benoit Haegeman, trainer of the RSCA Academy, said goodbye with pride and emotion after thirteen years. During his last weekend at the club, he led the U14 to a victory in the Ibn Battuta Cup in Tanger, ending his career on a high note. In an emotional message, Haegeman looks back on his time at the club.
“My blood has turned purple,” he says. Haegeman also thanks Jean Kindermans, who supported him at the club and furthered his development. He also expresses his pride for the players he has coached, stressing that the experiences have given him more than he contributed himself.
The last few weeks have been tough for Haegeman: “full of stress and emotions,” he said. His departure closes an important chapter, but he also looks ahead to the future. “A chapter ends, but the story continues,” he concluded. Finally, Haegeman also emphasizes his enduring attachment to the club and the players under his care.
