YOUTH With the final tournaments in June, the end of the season is approaching for youth teams. Although the various championships have been concluded for several weeks, the academies remain busy preparing for next season. Neerpede is no exception and already has most of the teams for the new campaign almost finalized. The acquisitions for Anderlecht's youth teams are already known, with some promising players set to join the club.


For the U16, Emilio Van Wijmeersch comes over from Club Brugge, while the U15 gets reinforcements from Christian Badianyama Muswayi of Zulte-Waregem. The U14 then welcomes back Denzel Lukoki and Houdayfa Gassa from Genk, as well as Aaron Ngando from Gent. For the U13, new arrivals include Abdoulkarim Bah of Union and Marwan Boaza of Beerschot.

Noteworthy is the arrival of Badianyama, who was coveted by several top academies and should strengthen the U15 attack. However, the two most notable acquisitions are Lukoki and Gassa, who played a crucial role in Genk's U13 championship.

On the other hand, there are also some departures to report. Nicholas Rutgeerts has made the move to KVK Tienen, while several U18 players, including Naim El Akaki and Tom Steenhaut, have left for other clubs. The U16 loses Benoit Bekaert to Cercle and Yhanis Onehese to Standard, among others.

Most of the departures are players who received little playing time or were allowed to leave. The club has been able to retain its key talents, which is a positive development compared to the summer of 2023, when some major promises left the academy. So all in all, Neerpede does not seem to come out of this transfer period weakened, rather the opposite. However, it is still too early for a final evaluation....
