YOUTH Anderlecht's U13 ended their season this weekend with a solid campaign at the international tournament in Bassevelde, where they reached the semifinals. Led by coach Loïck Fogel, the young talents lost only twice in six matches, one of which was against strong Real Madrid.
In the opening round of the tournament, Anderlecht's U13 faced the prestigious club Real Madrid, who beat them 3-0. Despite this heavy defeat, the little mauves recovered by winning the next two matches in the group stage convincingly: with a tie against Swedish club Bromma and a 3-1 victory against Zulte-Waregem.

Continue reading With these results, they qualified second for the quarter-finals, where they beat PSV Eindhoven 2-1, after still trailing at halftime. This allowed them to prepare for the semifinals, which took place on Sunday morning against Club Brugge. Despite previous victories against the Bruges side, the U13 eventually had to settle for a decisive round of penalties, in which they lost (0-0; 2-3 pen).
Disappointed, the U13 then entered the small final against Antwerp, where they again failed to win (2-1). The Antwerp attack proved too strong, so Anderlecht finished the tournament with fourth place:
