OTHER Dieumerci Mbokani (39) is no longer a footballer. The Congolese former Anderlecht striker was without a club since March 2024 and did not find a new club. In Belgium, Mbokani scored a lot of goals for four clubs.

Mbokani was rented by Anderlecht in 2006 from Congolese top club Mazembe. But Mbokani got few playing minutes. When he was allowed to play sporadically, due in part to an injury to Frutos, Mbokani showed his nose for goals. For example, he scored three goals against Beveren in 30 minutes of playing time. This time Anderlecht did not hesitate and Mbokani moved again to purple-white where he was reunited with Jovanovic. With Mbokani, Anderlecht became champions twice in a row and the Congolese also won the Golden Shoe in 2012.

Mbokani left Anderlecht in 2013 for Dynamo Kiev after which a series of clubs followed. He ended up in Belgium twice again to score many goals for Antwerp and then for Beveren in the Challenger Pro League. His last club was Noah in Armenia.

Mbokani also made 49 appearances for the Democratic Republic of Congo and scored 22 goals.
